Review: Series of events:- Contacted owner for quote, which was provided.- No notice of start date was provided, and their crew came to the site at the time of a reservation (a rental property), and began cutting the tree down. They were stopped mid-job because they failed to pull a permit from the City of Folly, which they said in their quote they would do if applicable. They failed to fully check the zoning of the property, for which, I paid a fine. Chuck then told me they would "work on getting a permit and be in touch when they knew more".- Three months go by, and we figured they weren't coming back as there was no communication. During another reservation, I get a call from another home renter that someone is cutting a tree down (again no notification). I called Chuck three times, no response at the time and never returned the calls. We had decided to leave the tree after the issues presented with the company, and they seemed to not be coming back. During the removal, they left debris, damaged string lighting (not communicated to me), all while the workers are wearing BayTree Landscaping attire. The project manager working for Chuck said he would get with Chuck to discuss the damages and lack of communication to reach a resolution.- Another three months go by, and I get an email from Chuck asking if I had paid the full bill or not. I explained what happened, provided the expenses and communications I had with his project manager at the time. He claims the project manager was fired, however he never returned my calls at the time the tree was cut down to discuss things directly.Ultimately Chuck didn't accept the amount of damages (city fine, string light replacement and labor, and reimbursement to rental guests) as sufficient, and wouldn't accept anything less than $400 discount (charges amounted to around $700 not including the headache and lack of professionalism on his part and his staff). I said I would pay the amount he wanted despite all of this, but would leave a public review as an accurate depiction of the events, which appears what he desired as the check was cashed.Chuck claims it was all staffing issues, which we as business owners have all had, however as owners, we are responsible for making sure operations continue to run smoothly or make appropriate amends. Chuck opted for blaming circumstances, timing, and his "staff issues" for not stepping in to control this project, and wanted a check he didn't even know was due six months ago, over negative review. We will be using a different tree service for future projects.

Review: We recently had three large trees removed in our backyard. The team came on time and in regards to taking down the trees they did an outstanding job. Safely done, were very good and very careful of my home and surrounding area by neighbors. The reason for 3 stars instead of 5 stars was the hauling out of the trees. My backyard was dry but the front was softer after a recent rain. Instead of taking one path out from the back to the front they took many (at least four) causing lots of track damage in my front yard. I also had to ask them to patch it up vs them just fixing it. They didn’t use wood planks to drive over until it was too late and the damage to the yard was done. I was hoping they would at least throw some seed down or something but did not. I’ve had to spend several hours power washing my driveway and neighbors and also time to rake and reseed many of the areas.I also had four stumps removed in the back and they did a pretty good job but left big mounds after it was done. I thought they would have smoothed it out a bit (that is how it was done in the past when I had stump’s ground down). Again more work for me in the backyard to lower the mounds.Overall I would probably use them again but be more diligent in watching how they removed the lumber.Services: Tree stump grinding, Tree removal

Review: Tyler and some more of the crew came out to trim my tree down. They were friendly, personable, did a GREAT job with the trimming. Chuck was communicative and responsive during the whole process of some small weather setbacks and issues with insurance which made my nerves at ease. Overall the company is a 11/10 recommendation !!! Service: Tree trimming & pruning

Review: We hired Charleston Stump Stompers Tree Service for several projects (stump removal, tree removal, tree pruning and vine removal). Tyler came out and walked the project area with me to understand our needs. Very friendly and professional. He quickly ascertained our needs and got back to us soon after with a quote and a reassuring “take-your-time” no-pressure attitude since it was a big job. Of course, it took no time to decide since the quote was very reasonable. They scheduled a time to come by and took care of all projects same day. Removal and clean-up was zero impact. Our yard and space looks much better after their work. We would hire them again in an instant.Services: Tree stump removal, Tree trimming & pruning, Tree removal
